1.  NOUN

Noun adalah sebuah kata yang menamai sesuatu baik yang terlihat atau tidak terlihat.

Cara untuk mengetahui Noun terbagi menjadi 3 yaitu :

·         Definition       

·         Classes           

·         Features

                               I.            Definition

The name of a person, place, thing, or idea.

Example :

Alicia is the leader. (person)

We live in Chicago. (place)

A hammer is a usefull tool. (thing)

Peace in the world is our goal. (idea)

                            II.            Classes

Clases menurut kelompoknya terbagi menajadi 2 yaitu :

1.      Proper Noun

Example    :           We sang “I Gotta Feeling”

2.      Common Noun

Example    :           We sang a song

                         III.            Features

Terbagi menjadi 6 macam yaitu :

1.      Determiner

Example    :           many bananas

A friendship

2.      Singular or plural

Example    :           one book ( singular )

Five books ( plural )

3.      Ownership or Relationship

Example    :           frank’s bike is a ten – speed ( ownership )

The window’s pane was frosted ( relationship )

4.      Suffix

Example    :           yang berakhiran –ation, -ism, -ness, -ance

5.      Countable Nouns

Example    :           boy, book, umbrella, table, student.

6.      Uncountable Nouns

Example    : oil, water, meat, sugar, corn, money, cheese.

2.  PRONOUN

Pronoun adalah Kata Ganti, Posisi pronoun juga bisa di gantikan oleh Noun.

Ciri-ciri Pronoun :

·         Lebih banyak personal Noun yang sering muncul

·         Subject isinya bisa Noun/Pronoun

·         Noun yang digunakan Pronoun adalah Noun Anticident

Cara Mengidentifikasi Pronoun terbagi menjadi 3 yaitu :

·         Definition

·         Classes

·         Features

A.     DEFINITION

A word Takes the place of a Noun or another pronoun.

Example          :          

·        Daniel Brought the present inside and gave it to his uncle harvey.

·        Present is Antecident (N)

·         Some of the students want their grades now before vocation starts.

·         Some is Anticedent (P)

Antecedent Usually Come before the Pronoun

            Example   :    Charlene finaly got a dial tone, but by then she had forgotten the number.

Sometimes it follows its pronoun.

            Example   :    After He returned from the hike, Carlos was too exhausted to do his chores.    

B.     CLASSES

PERSONAL

Reffering to themself, people or nouns talked/witten about

Example           :

·         I enjoy old movies.

·         The jury believed me.

3.  VERB

Verb adalah kata yang menjelaskan sebuah aktifitas atau kondisi keadaan/situasi tentang isi Noun atau Pronoun.

Ada tiga cara untuk mengenal Verb yaitu :

·         Definition       

·         Classes           

·         Features

I.                   Definition

Verb is a word that shows action or stae of being about a noun or pronoun.

Example          :           we run five miles each day (action)

I am down in the dumps today ( state of being )

II.                Classes

Pengelompokan verb terbagi menjadi 3 classes yaitu :

1.      Action Verbs

Menunjukan aktifitas baik secara fisik maupun mental.

Example    :           richardo climbed the rope (physical action)

We hope our team wins. (mental action)

2.      Linking Verbs

Tidak menunjukan action, tapi dia menghubungkan antara kalimat pertama dengan kalimat kedua.

Example    :           the sky became cloudy.

He is an artist.

3.      Helping Verbs

Membantu kata kerja utama untuk mengekspresikan kondisi atau gambarnya.

Example    :           the plane will arrive on schedule.

The bicycle chain has become rusty.
